Frequently asked questions

We understand the unique characteristics of each regional market.

Is Feelingwood Fencing Code-Compliant?

All Feelingwood products, when installed correctly for approved applications, adhere to or are undergoing rigorous code compliance reviews for the International Residential Code (IRC) and/or the International Building Code (IBC). However, it’s crucial to check with your local building code department for specific jurisdictional requirements.

Can You Rip a Feelingwood Fencing Panel?

Feelingwood products are designed not to be ripped to reduce thickness, but they can be ripped to reduce length. As long as the ripped board can still be installed according to the installation instructions, the warranty will remain valid. When fastening ripped boards, please use caution, as pre-drilling may be necessary.

Can I Use Other Fasteners to Install Feelingwood Fencing?

Feelingwood does not recommend using non-recommended fasteners for fencing installation. Any issues arising from the use of non-approved fasteners will not be covered under the Feelingwood Limited Warranty. Please consult our Installation Guide for more information.

Can I Paint or Stain My Feelingwood Fencing?

Feelingwood fencing’s robust shell means it never requires painting or staining. The rich color and protective finish are inherent parts of the shell, designed to resist rotting, splitting, splintering, and insect damage throughout the warranty period. Additionally, painting Feelingwood fencing may invalidate your warranty.

Is Feelingwood Fencing Scratch Resistant?

All Feelingwood fencing is designed to resist potential damage. Our current fencing lines are scratch-resistant, protecting your fencing against nicks, cracks, and splitting.

Is Feelingwood Fencing Fire Resistant?

Your safety outdoors is our utmost priority. At Feelingwood, we prioritize safety measures. Our fencing has passed fire-resistant testing, but please note that it is not fireproof.

Are Fencing Samples Available?

Yes. Please contact us if you’re interested in our composite fencing products.

How Long Does Feelingwood Composite Fencing Last?

When properly cared for, the wood plastic composite fencing will last well beyond the 10-25 years warranty.

Will Feelingwood Composite Fencing Fade After Installation?

Feelingwood fencing will lighten naturally over the first 2-3 months of outdoor exposure before stabilizing. This lightening is caused by rain washing out naturally occurring dark wood oils (called tannins) and UV exposure. The color lightening reduces and gradually remains stable after this period.

Is Feelingwood Fencing Easy to Clean?

Maintaining a Feelingwood WPC fence is effortless. Simply clean it with soap and water. For a detailed cleaning routine, please refer to our dedicated Care & Cleaning Guide.

Is Feelingwood Fencing Maintenance-Free?

While Feelingwood fencing requires significantly less maintenance than traditional wood fencing, some care is still necessary to maintain its appearance over the years. Regular cleaning and upkeep, similar to washing your car, are essential. Refer to our Care & Cleaning Guide for more information on maintaining your fencing.

Is Feelingwood Fencing Easy to Install?

Installing Feelingwood composite fencing is not difficult. Our installation guide provides valuable tips and tricks to ensure a smooth installation process.

What’s the Lifetime Value of Feelingwood Fencing?

Pressure-treated wood fencing requires ongoing maintenance, such as sanding, staining, and painting, which increases overall costs over time. Although Feelingwood may have a higher initial investment, its lack of maintenance needs ensures you’ll never have to sand, stain, or paint it. This leads to significant savings throughout the fencing’s lifespan, exceeding the cost of wood.

Why is Feelingwood Fencing More Expensive than Wood, Despite Being Made from Recycled Materials?

Although Feelingwood’s primary materials are recycled, the intricate processing involved in creating this fencing ensures its superior quality and performance. This advanced manufacturing process results in a fencing material that outperforms traditional wood, ultimately saving you money through lower maintenance requirements.

What Materials Are Used in the Manufacturing of Feelingwood Fencing?

Feelingwood fencing is crafted primarily from recycled materials, including reclaimed sawdust and plastic derived from common household items like plastic packaging from paper towels and toilet paper, dry cleaning bags, newspaper bags, and grocery and shopping bags.

Why Choose Feelingwood Fencing?

Feelingwood fencing offers unmatched durability and performance compared to traditional wood fencing. It resists termites, rot, warping, and splintering, and never requires staining or painting. Furthermore, our fencing is crafted from 90% recycled materials, making it an environmentally friendly choice you can be proud of.
